The educational scene has been strengthened by a new work worth reading, which will see the light of day with the publication in early March of a speech by the Moroccan journalist, poet and writer Raja Kibash in the Varraka Bilal Printing House, Fes, marked with “A didactic approach to teaching values in the Moroccan education system. Research results and feasibility”. This work is considered the author’s fifth publication to combine poetic and prose writing, as she published respectively Divan Cry of a Dying Heart (2016 AD), Divan Pulse from the Absence of Silence (2018 AD) , “Namarik”. , A History of Life (2020 CE), and Denying the Epidemic: Sociological Papers (2021 CE).
The researcher approached the book she read from a sociological point of view, due to her academic specialization, and it can be considered the fruit of many years of professional experience in the field of teaching, in which she exceeded two decades, and a university academic path. in the field of sociology and education, as well as having a rich and varied experience, which she has gained through the publication of solid scientific articles, contributions and participation in seminars on research in the field of education.
There are 289 pages between the covers of the book, medium size, divided into two parts. The first chapter includes a general introduction, in which the researcher touched on the general context, reasons, and approach, and the second chapter, which deals with the theoretical background of the study, and consists of four chapters; A chapter for previous studies, a chapter for the theoretical rooting of the concept of values in the sociological heritage, and a third chapter for the value system and education system in Morocco. What is the connection? And the final, fourth chapter, entitled “Education of values and the teaching profession.” As for the third chapter, it is related to applied field research, then the conclusion, bibliography, appendices and index.
If we look at the book and reflect on it, we find that the researcher has applied a descriptive and analytical approach to the research approach, and we clearly feel, turning the pages, the fruitfulness of the analysis, the depth of the approach and the aspect of consideration, since I began the author with an introduction that included an explicit the call to reconsider the methods used in the school and the inevitable need to move from indoctrination and knowledge-filling of memory to new and innovative methods and strategies that encourage students to develop their own abilities, provide opportunities for creativity and innovation, improve their critical sense, activate intelligence and ensure their active and serious participation in the knowledge and communication society. From the very beginning, the researcher tried to unravel the problem, since on page 22 it was indicated that the main problem of this study is related to one of the recurring educational problems that manifest themselves in the education of values in educational institutions, and that the study, in its essence, will focus mainly on the reality of value education in Morocco and shed light on the role of the professor in limiting one of the reasons for the gap between the system of values in official documents; From curricula and textbooks… and their manifestation in individuals and groups.
The importance of the book lies in the fact that it traces, through the eyes of a sociologist, according to an expert academic vision, the function of the school in reproducing the values agreed in the social contract that governs relations between individuals and groups. According to the author, value changes and paradigms, of course, affect the methods, theories and techniques for the school to fulfill its desired value function.
The book as a whole focuses on monitoring and tracking the events that characterized the relationship between the value system and the educational system in Morocco, as well as the relationship between them, in a conscious reproduction and a sober and accurate diagnosis of the reality of education. about values in Morocco and giving more importance to the role of the decisive and key teacher in the process of didactic transmission of values and uploading them in such a way that Selim is unobtrusive in the classroom and in the classroom on the one hand, and passing them on from one generation to another on the other hand. The researcher drew attention to the serious problem that the professor faces, which, in her opinion, is represented in the “problem of values” through a look at the depth of transformations that the world is going through in general and Moroccan society in particular.
It is noteworthy that the researcher, in explaining her topic, drew on previous and recent scientific research and studies, references in Arabic and French, solid scientific articles, educational papers, reports, manuals and reference frameworks, as well as the opinions of educational experts through scientific interviews. All this gave the research a character of plausibility. The property of authenticity is to expand one’s subject and present one’s critical opinions, and this is the property of the scientific obsession that inhabits it, the usual academic output in her works, and its achievements, distinguished by novelty and uniqueness.
The researcher’s desire to clarify the concept of values, as crystallized in the sociological heritage, and to focus on studying the nature of the existing relationship between the system of values and the educational system in Morocco, depending on the reference framework that regulates them, suggests her awareness of the importance of studying values in Morocco by correctly and accurately diagnosing the relationship between learning and practice to ensure the optimal creation of a value system capable of building a cohesive and reassuring society.
Among the findings of this valuable study; Having reached almost consensus among researchers that the concept of value is one of the most complex concepts of the social sciences, due to its relationship with many other concepts, and values are one of the main pillars in improving the quality of education, and today we are in dire need of an attractive, a unique, open and renewable school capable of shaping a generation Citizen, creative, useful and useful in his society, equipped with valuable ammunition to immunize himself against the dangers of “cultural epidemic” and “moral wars”, as the researcher with whom he will face in life situations in his lived reality, as values and life skills, as they contain norms of behavior. Among the conclusions reached by the researcher is that values are firmly present in the general educational structure for all societies, and that they are the implicit basis for every model of development, and their topic remains a problem for everyone who is interested in the educational field. She called for the need to transform the value discourse in official documents into intellectual beliefs and daily behavioral practices in the education system in Morocco, as well as to adopt a participatory approach to help the student make choices, overcome obstacles and help him solve problems, which will not be possible without an educated , a thinking, social, humane, communicative teacher, and updating the reform, in her opinion, requires the adoption of curricula that take into account education on values as the main lever There is no doubt that value education is a compass that guides individual and collective thinking and behavior, and is the responsibility of the whole society with its various components and institutions.
