According to Turkish media reports, the leadership of the Besiktas football club, in consultation with the technical staff, has adopted a new plan to deal with unwanted players within the team, including Morocco captain Roman Sayes.

According to the Turkish newspaper “Milliet”, it was decided to give Roman Sayes the opportunity to participate in the team’s matches from time to time, despite the existence of a technical dispute between the player and his coach Sinol Gunes.

The club’s management decided, in consultation with the technical staff, to return Sayes to the competition atmosphere, although he is already on the relegation list after the end of the season, in order to avoid the impact of his market value, and his reduction due to his non-participation in matches.

Details of Sayes’ crisis at Besiktas date back to the defender’s return from the World Cup with Morocco, as he disagreed with team coach Sinol Gunes on some tactical issues. The latter informed the club’s management of his unwillingness to rely on him.

Sayes’ contract at Besiktas expires in June 2024, after he joined on a free transfer from Wolverhampton last summer.
